No Child Left Behind Problem

I found a story about a study done on the No Child Left Behind standards that schools have to abide by.  The study shows that students who may have been excelling or considered gifted have a relatively high chance of losing their academic achievement by high school.  Almost 50% of "gifted" students were no longer encouraged or pushed to do well by the time they were older, and thus lost their "gifted" status.

I am not surprised, unfortunately.  It is an interesting read so check it out.
